Your Librarian

Hello! I thought I'd take some time to introduce myself, my name is Kia, I am the Librarian here at the Pauline Johnson Library. I started here in July.

I have a sort of odd work history, I worked for Canada Post for nearly 10 years, before that I was a receptionist at a security company, my first job was at the Manitoba Museum as a Pirate. I volunteered for 4 years at the Manitoba Museum where I spent time in every area, public programming, education programs, collections, science gallery, planetarium, and of course traveling exhibits. Every position I have held before gave me experience for working at the Pauline Johnson Library.

I studied Human Rights, with a minor in history, and a specialty in Genocides at the University of Winnipeg. Later I started taking Library studies at Red River College. I love learning and everyone who knows me says this is the perfect job for me!

I am 31 years old and am originally from Calgary Alberta, but have lived in Manitoba most of my life. We bought our house in Lundar in 2021, and have made Lundar our home ever since. My husband and I have two little ones, they were both born since we moved here. I serve on the Lundar Daycare board as well as being the librarian.

If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask!

Thank you!

Kia
